Exploded view questions

Exploded view questions

(OP)
I created an exploded view in my assembly file. I used that explosion in a view on a drawing. How do I hide the explosion in my assembly. If I delete the explosion, my drawing view also get collapsed. Is there a way to hide or suppress the explosion in the assembly file and still have it shown on a drawing. Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Anand

RE: Exploded view questions

yes - go to the drawing view properties (RMB the view\Properties) and select Explode view.

RE: Exploded view questions

janandk,

Scott is correct, as usual, provided you don't delete your exploded view from the assembly.  Simply collapse your assembly but retain the exploded view for use on the drawing.  Just wanted to clarify.....

Thank you guys.
I added a configuration and the assembly got collapsed and drawing view is still exploded. But now I cannot access the exploded configuration. How do I switch between configs. Thanks again

Guys, Never mind. I figured it out. Did not see the tab for configs on top. Thanks.

RE: Exploded view questions

Adding additional configurations is great for different sections you might want to explode bringing the viewers attention to that selected area, and it takes up less paper space
I've had as many as 4 exploded views (exploded configs) on a complex drawing. It's easy when you know what to do huh?
