water base adhesive
water base adhesive
(OP)
we need to laminate alum. foil onto a insulation wool slab.
knowing that the above materials does not support fire hence we are not considering solvent base.
I appreciate if someone can advise a reasonable cost and effective product for our application.
Presently, we are using compressor & spray gun method, is there any process that can ensure an even adhesion across the insulation. In addition, I realize water base adhesive does not stick as well as solvent base and it takes a longer time to dry. Anyway to improve this situation.
Thanks in advance

RE: water base adhesive
Solvent based product is more flammable than water based product in the wet state. When dry the solvent is gone and the flammability could be similar to water based product.
One thing you could try is a pressure sensitive hot melt, either roll coated on or sprayed on. They set up quickly, and there is no flammable solvent to deal with.
Another option may be to apply the adhesive using a roller.
Also, if you used a pressure sensitve water based adhesive and applied it at minimual thicknesses, drying time can be reduced.
Which side you spray it to can make a difference. If you spray it on the wool, a bit of it will be soaked into the wool and not bond with the aluminum.
