How do I copy an assembly to reuse in a new project.

RE: copy an assembly

Use the MDT Vault, you have the option of selecting what part or subassy to copy for the new assembly.  My favorite opion is to put all parts into one folder, and then copy and paste mannually using Windows Explorer.

RE: copy an assembly

You could also use "pack and go" to the new project location.

OR the little addin called "iassembly" from Charles Bliss
http://www.cbliss.com/inventor/iCode/index.htm

OR if you are using the Vault, I believe that functionality is built in.

There is also probably a way to do it within design assistant, but the other ways are probably much easier.

Thank you for your help and I feel odd asking such a simple question.
Step:
1) Open vault for the first time.
2) RMC Add file Battery box assy.iam
3) Press OK, Then some box with Relationships and Inventor add-in I pressed YES.
4) RMC Copy Design
ERROR File Cannot Be copied
Could not locate associated project file in vault

Tried Pack and Go it's Not found or Grayed Out.

RE: copy an assembly

I supposed you've already checked the project, assy and components into the vault for copying.
