Edit Pattern Parts

Edit Pattern Parts

Is it possible to edit a Pattern Part feature in the assembly environment?  Lets say I want to add or remove parts from the feature. Or do I have to delete the whole feature and create a new one?

RE: Edit Pattern Parts

Depending on how you created the pattern you can edit it by editing the sketch of the pattern and by clicking on the rectangle or the circle of the pattern then the ribbon bar will offer you the same options as when you created it. There you have an options for removing instances.

But if you have a pattern using a hole command then you cannot remove an instance without deleting the hole itself.

Hi Patrick,

Thank you for your response. Actually I don't want to edit the profile of the pattern but which parts are patterned in the assembly environment.

Let's say I created a pattern of parts consisting out of a bolt and nut. Now I have added a washer to my design. How do I add this washer to the same pattern or must I create a all new pattern in my assembly.

RE: Edit Pattern Parts

You can reselect the parts if you click on the pattern and then click on the edit button at the end of the ribbon bar that brings you at the same steps that you did to create the pattern itself. There you can reselect the parts but you will have to validate the starting point the it should be ok.

Thanks Patrick!

I thought that the "Edit Definitions" was only for normally placed parts.
