hallo for all abaqus users,i started newly using this tool and iam interesting in making a sequetionally coupled heat transfer-stress analysis.Any helping topics or tipps since the   users manual is poor in this topic.

I am also a new user to ABAQUS and am having a similar difficulty getting it up and running.  I will keep you updated as I figure this out, but what kind of heat transfer are you looking at?  Do you have BC's, etc or are you having trouble on a more basic level?

Sequentially coupled would imply that the thermal analysis is ran prior to running the stress analysis, using the calculated temperatures as a field boundary condition.

A coupled temperature-displacement analysis runs both thermal and stress analysis together. This is used when contact is involved, for example, and the thermal conditions change with distortion. This type of analysis is no different from a sequential analysis except that both thermal and structural type boundary conditions are applied in the same step.

Thanks for replies,but i still want any helpful readings about  this type of analysis.Actually i trying to simulate a heating process of a cross shaped piece of metal then forming the sample by a predefined displacment.I got the temperatures i want form the thermal simulation,but when i start the mechanical simulation the temperature of all nodes becomes uniform and decreases till the end of the mechanical simulation.Till now iam trying and would like to hear ideas from you.thanks

The mechanical and thermal loads must be in the same step. If you run the mechanical loads after the thermal loads in a coupled temperature displacement analysis then your thermal boundary conditions may or not be carried into the second step. It sounds as if the temperatures are being set to some constant value for the mechanical load step and the temperatures are being ramped down linearly from a predetermined temperature distribution down to zero or something.

Iam not doing a coupled simulation,iam trying to make a sequentialy coupled one.I have done a thermal simulation then defined the node temperatures as temp-field in the mechanical simulation.And now when i see the temp. distribution at the beginning of the mechanical simulation it looks different than the results at the end of the thermal simulation.Anyone got the point?WHY?

one thing again is about the units used,everything is given in meter or what?
Also i,ve got these warnings in the mechanical simulation

Node 11782 in Part Instance BLANK-1 is not active in the model. Temperatures for this node will be ignored.

Node 11783 in Part Instance BLANK-1 is not active in the model. Temperatures for this node will be ignored.

The number of temperature points 1 for beam or shell section found on the output database is smaller than in the  current model. This number must match between models.

any ideas how to solve this,cause i think thats why the temp.field is different from the thermal simulation results
