Layer filter to exclude layer names

Layer filter to exclude layer names

Is there a way to write a Layer filter to exclude layer names?  I know *xx* will INCLUDE all with "xx" in the name, but I want to not have to see and scroll through all the xref layers, so I want to EXCLUDE all with "xx" in the name.

The only way I can think to trick it is to unlock all, lock all xref layers, then filter all unlocked.  That, of course, is risky, because it makes me unlock things like dtm, etc, which I hate to do.

Thanks.

2006.  Great Website, the page you provided does exactly what I needed...I wish I'd have asked that question a few years ago.  Thanks
