fiber optic temperature monitoring

to thread238-138610

I am currently searching fro a possibility to monitor temperature on circuit breaker conductors (under tension). I would really be interested to get some more information about the possibility to measure the temperature with this fiber optic technology.

RE: fiber optic temperature monitoring

Enclose is a link for fiber optic distributed temperature sensing (DTS)

I am not sure if this technology is cost effective for the type of application described in your post. A possible alternative is using probe or infrared cameras to detect high temperatures.

RE: fiber optic temperature monitoring

Everything depends what you would like to measure. If this is a discrete measurement you can use point type fiber optic probes:

If you measure something like long cable or surface you may want to use distributed type devices mentioned above but check also:

There are also others.
