Sparge ring designing for raw water tank

Sparge ring designing for raw water tank

(OP)
I am working on the detailing of 25' dia X 24'ht Raw water
tank. due to high percent of H2S and CO2 the process  recommends for sprinkling of inlet raw water through sparge ring with spray nozzle for removalof the H2S and CO2.
Can any one guide me about the design and detailing of this sparge ringthat what will b ethe size , the no of zozzles and its dia, spacing between the nozzles and the material to be used for both sparge ring and nozzle. The inlet flow is around 509 GPM.
As i am a new comer in this field a detailed answer will be highly appreciated
thanks

RE: Sparge ring designing for raw water tank

Somebody has given you bad information.

A sparge ring or spray ring will not significantly remove any of the H2S but may remove a small proportion of the CO2.

What is normally used is something called an aearator. The aerator is typically mounted above the water tank. Water drains from the aerator to the water tank by gravity.

The aearator will remove all of the CO2. H2S removal is more difficult. If you have significant amounts of H2S, you will probably have to add chlorine to remove it. It all depends on how much H2S is present.
