Large assembly drawing question

Large assembly drawing question

Large assembly drawing question

(OP)
Has anyone had good success savings 200-500 pc sub assemblies as parts and building a upper level sub with these type parts in order to get drawings out.  Our upper level assys may have 3300-5000 parts total and even with a light weight config with fasteners turned off we may still have 2500 parts.  Our drawing productivity often comes to a near halt even with a machine with Dual 3.2 processors, and 3 gig's ram and a 256 mg pciexpress card from nvidia.  We need to show sections through our subs.  We are going to try and rebuild one glovebox with subs saved as parts and see what we get but we are struggling to get our deliveribles out.  Any feed back would be appreciated.
