Here's an open question...

What is a good reference book for slot antennas?  Millimeter wave ideally.

RE: slot antennas

RSGB 'Microwave Handbook' (I've got Volume 1, 1989) edited by M.W. Dixon, G3PFR. It has several sections that touch on various slot antennas. Perhaps a few pages in all. Beint 1989, not as up to date as 'millimeter wave'.

Probably more/better info on the www.

typo: Beint = Being

RE: slot antennas

Millimeter wave is difficult.
One good slot antenna  design is the venerable coax. to waveguide transition you can buy at many locations. mount that flush to a ground plane with a matching square hole in it and you have a slot antenna that's pretty well matched over a large band.

I assume you have a box and want to cut a slot in it for a simple flush mount antenna.
Could you elaborate on your mechanical layout?

Sorry, I can't go into specifics.  We have some proprietary circuits working at 1000s of GHz.  At these wavelengths I'm wondering if slot antennas represent a good model.

I haven't done a lot of research because this is a bit of a side project for me.  All I know for sure so far is that Maxwell was one smart cookie!  I'll take VE1BLL's advice and start searchng the web.
