dear sirs
one of microalloyed steels is 30msv6(according to pegeot standar).Recommended heat treatmet for yield(Min.580n/mm^2) and tensile is as followinh:
heating: 1100-1200o/C----> still in air

what means still in air?( is it important to know cooling rate)

Best regards

RE: 30msv6

Still air means no movement/circulation/velocity.  If there is no cooling rate specified in the standard, then it is not important.  Accelerated cooling by fan or other means is not recommended.

Dear sirs
Thank you for your answere,but Is it possible to have following mechanical properties for this steel grade when it cool in still air:
Yield point:Min. 580N/mm^2
Tensile:850-1000N/mm^

Best Regards

RE: 30msv6

For 30MSV6, the properties you mention will not be obtained by austenization and still air quench only, some tempering will be required.

dear yates,
I think,your idea is that mentioned properties made in quenched in oil and then tempering.
