In the formula for heat inputs for en15614 what does the following stand for:-

U
I
v
10-3
I have been sent this info and don't understand it as i work to Amse.

Let me guess :
k= efficiency
U= Voltage
I= Amperage
v= velocity
10-3= 0.001

Above will result in heat input in KJ/mm
