Using SW2006 sp 4.1    I have an exploded view of a metal case assembly, approx 5 meg, and when I run “animate explode” the fixings (screws, nuts, washers, rivets etc) all display as block images. Is there a setting somewhere in SW to show them as they should be?   The IT guy has just installed a NVIDA  FX 3450  graphics card (SW recommended)  and I’m not see results I expected. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Eddy

Yeah, with that card, I'd expect smooth graphics.  Check your driver to see if it's the one recommended by SolidWorks (just in case).

In Tools > Options > System Options > Performance and/or Tools > Options > Document Properties > Image Quality there should be a "slider" bar which controls the level of detail shown when moving parts.

Thanks guys.

The FX3450 looked a real beast compared to the one he took out just as I was about to leave work and I didn't have any real time to experiment.
I'll try your suggestions when I'm back at work on Monday.

Check the driver! if it's not certified then that could be your issue.
