Section problems

Section problems

Section problems

(OP)
We are having problems when we cut a section in a drawing getting a message that SW could not properly section the model and to check to see if the section line in fact intersects with the model.  We use a lot of sections in our drawings and we had a drawing sectioned and balloned and now that view has taken on a gold color.  I have enable partial sections, and if I change the view property from hidden lines removed to shaded it views perfectly.  Any ideas.

SW2006 sp4.1, dual 3.2 w  gigs ram windows XP, nvidia fx3400 video card.

Thanks in advance.

RE: Section problems

I have seen this several times.  What usually works for me is to change the direction of the section (double click on section line), rebuild and change the direction of the section back to the way it was originally, rebuild,  and it seems to work.  In some cases you may need to re-insert your baloons.

RE: Section problems

Most like the issue is the section makes a aero thickness edge and SW cannot solve for it. Try offsetting the section by a minimal bit, that usually fixes the issue. Otherwise you are going to have find the entitiy that is causing the issue and see if there is away to workaround it.

RE: Section problems

I have fixed the issue before per Scott's suggestion. I could be a very small area that has zero (or very little) thickness.
