Edit STAAD database?

Edit STAAD database?

Edit STAAD database?

(OP)
Has anyone had success in editing the STAAD database?  I would like to add some of the new sections while removing some sections that never would be used for the heavy industrial work that our firm does (no matter what STAAD selects we would never use W6x9 in the facilities we design)

Thanks

RE: Edit STAAD database?

You can modify the Section database if you wish.  The database is a Microsoft ACCESS file (not sure which version) and you can edit it there, or in STAAD 2005 you can edit the database within the program itself.  See link  http://www.reiworld.com/Search.asp?id=SP-2839 to add individual sections.
The other method is to create your own USER TABLE.

RE: Edit STAAD database?

I have a Staad Input file, want to calculate it with sofistik software. I therefore would need FEMAP, ABAQUS, ANSYS or NASTRAN file. Anyone here who knows how to transform the STAAD input file....? are there input file translator programs existing...?
