Anchorage To Concrete Using new ACI Code

Anchorage To Concrete Using new ACI Code

Anchorage To Concrete Using new ACI Code

(OP)
Has anyone else had a hell of a time using the method for anchorage to concrete using the new ACI Code?  We keep getting unusual and un-workable solutions.  I have revereted to the method in PCI Handbook.  This new method is a great canditate for a spreadsheet.

RE: Anchorage To Concrete Using new ACI Code

it's my understanding that app. D does not consider the contribution of the pier reinforcing in determining the pullout strength of an anchor.  you need to consider the lap length with the rod and nut, taking into account the 45deg cone.

RE: Anchorage To Concrete Using new ACI Code

The method was awkward and confusing the first few times, but now that I'm getting used to it, that is going away.  And no real problems with unworkable solutions here- but not the normal anchorage conditions, either.
