RE: External Reference

Actually, there is.

There is a switch in the Library Feature prop mgr called "Link to library part" that makes the feature associative to the library feature file rather than just a dumb copy.

RE: External Reference

(OP)
Yup, but it is not checked

RE: External Reference

Out of curiosity, how do you know you have an external reference?

RE: External Reference

(OP)
Arrow with the question mark in the feature tree. it was noticed when someone tried to check a part into pdmworks and it wanted to also check int the lib feature.

RE: External Reference

Ok, so I'll assume the ->? is on a Library Feature?  That would indicate that the original library file has been moved.  Have you tried to RMB on the feature that has the external reference and ask it to List External References?  That should show you at least what it is looking for.

Also, are you sure you didn't accidentally insert a part into another part instead of using a library feature?

What version are you using, the "feature pallette" has been changed to the Design Library.

If you want to offer more detailed information, the question might answer itself.
