forcing diameter instead of radius.

forcing diameter instead of radius.

forcing diameter instead of radius.

ok, i've tried for a while to set radius to diameter in solidworks but have so far failed. the shop at my work wants me to give them their plans with diameters instead of radii, but solidworks refused to allow me to do so. does anyone know a solution to this?

RE: forcing diameter instead of radius.

Click teh Radius Dim to bring up the Dimension Properties, select Moore Proerties at the bottom.  Enable the Diameter Dimension check box, Apply.

RE: forcing diameter instead of radius.

What if your design requires radii??
The shop should use both.

it seems i don't have this check box.

oh. i see what you're talking about. i should have specified that i was trying to annotate this on a drawing sheet.

RE: forcing diameter instead of radius.

the shop does use both but i guess they prefer radii. if its not possible i'll tell him so.

RE: forcing diameter instead of radius.

You can do the same thing with a dimension on a drawing sheet.

RE: forcing diameter instead of radius.

(OP)
is it in the same spot as in the model view? it doesn't seem to be showing up. could it be because the dimension is showing up as true r?

RE: forcing diameter instead of radius.

You can't change a True R to a diameter, unless you create an Auxiliary View first so teh edge is in plan view.
