Material choice or a disposable clip
Material choice or a disposable clip
(OP)
I am working on the design of a clip that will be used in our manufacturing process to help stabilize the corners of some flimsy frames.
It is basically a corner clip that will snap into the frame to help hold the corner square. It will be used a couple of times and then thrown away. It will be on the frame for about an hour at the most and then removed during assembly.
The clip is about 1.5" square and about .100" thick (through the support). It needs to be somewhat flexible in order to snap in, but ridgid enough to support the frame.
Thanks!
Joe

You do not give anywhere near enough information for me to hazard a guess.

We make a similar clip out of POLYPRO in house. we use some simple tooling for small runs. Our website is www.chemcut.net. Drop me an email if you would like to talk/share design/production tips @ mharp@chemcut.net
RE: Material choice or a disposable clip
What exactly is your question? Material selectio? Snap design?....
RE: Material choice or a disposable clip
I am meeting with a plastic manufacturer this morning to move the project forward. I will keep you guys posted on what I end up with.
