hi

Error: Too many attempts for Increment

wat does this error really means?

RE: Error Too many attempts for Increment

(OP)
the error message is exactly like this¨Too many attempts made for this increment¨

RE: Error Too many attempts for Increment

Means that the solver cannot obtain a converged solution with the default number of attempts.  I think you can change the default - it'll be in the docs somewhere.

I must admit, I very rarely change the default. There's usually something fundamentally wrong with the model or the analysis has reached an instability (like a buckling load) for this to happen.

Martin

RE: Error Too many attempts for Increment

Too man increments can also occur in contact problems. if you have initial penetration of contact surfaces it may occur. if your model has collision between two objects and you are getting this error, try using *contact controls. Please describe model more.
