Using a dxf import to cut a solid
Using a dxf import to cut a solid
(OP)
Howdie.
I am trying to cut the top off of a simple cube, with a wavy surface. The wavy surface is an imported dxf file. Problem is Wildfire2 will not recognize the surface (I can't select it to trim with). I'm assuming the dxf file can be classified as a quilt, but ProE doesn't seem to think so. What am I doing wrong, here?
TIA

Try selecting the import feature (so it highlights pink), and then hit Copy and then Paste. This should give you a copied quilt.
Then try to make your cut using the copied surface.
Good luck!

>justeepgiviner> I thought I'd try your idea, too, but ProE won't allow cut and paste of an imported surface as far as I can tell(at least not dfx or iges).
Thanks for all your help!

Maybe make some sort of collective faq here.
