Camera animate

Camera animate

Camera animate

(OP)
I'm new at the animating camera feature in SW 06.
I can not get the camera to follow a path for animation. Help shows very little how it's done. What am I missing? I can't find anything that shows me how to pick the path, then animate it.
thanks

I think I found it. Is there a way to edit the "sled" part after animation? I want to change a point to make it rotate.

RE: Camera animate

1) Use an assembly for the animation.
2) Make a part to act as a sled for the aim point of the camera.
3) Attach the camera's aim point to the sled.
4) Move the sled and the camera should folow.

hanks. I got that far. I can't figure out how to go back and edit the camera. I want one of the points on the timeline to make the camera turn around.

RE: Camera animate

Use mates to control the sled, and hence the camera.  To have complete control you really need two sleds.  One sled controls the camera position and the other controls the camera aim point.

Alternatively you can put both the camera position and aim point on the same sled and use mates to control both the position (with distance constraints) and direction (with angle constraints) of the camera.

Thanks bvanheil. How do you edit the camera rotation, etc after you make the animation?

RE: Camera animate

You can't control the camera directly, but you can attach it to a part (the "sled" I've referenced above).  Use distance and angle mates to control the part(sled) position in the assembly, and then change the mate values in the animation to create motion.
