Bad experience with Conisio

Bad experience with Conisio

Bad experience with Conisio

(OP)
After 4 hours of presentation.....I just find out that :
Conisio doesn’t have a correct BOM !!!
First of all, doesn't know what is the BOM for each configuration and second doesn't know if the part/sub-assy is suppressed.(Conisio is reading the assembly’s references)
Any other opinion ?

RE: Bad experience with Conisio

Who's presentation? Yours, Conisio's or ????

Have you spoken to Conisio support to find the source of the the problem?

cheers

Sorry about your replay’s record but, I’m looking for an answer from someone who can prove me that I’m wrong. (I hope not)
Anyway, thanks for intervention…

???????

Sorry to be obtuse, but I haven't a clue who or what any of your reply refers to.

Do you have any answers to my questions?

cheers

I think if flower72 did a search, he/she will find answers.

RE: Bad experience with Conisio

flower72,

If you have not done a search then try looking at this FAQ559-1091.

If you have ran a search and did not find your answer, then I would have to say I can't believe that... Conisio is an awesome product and I would think something like that would get caught and fixed.

Also, if you are using configurations, that alone is a leading cause to BOM and balloons not matching up and showing the wrong data. So you need to look closer at your files.

And not to be rude here, but everyone here is trying to help you and to also have you help yourself. By helping yourself it will show you are not looking for the easy way out. The easy way out is not the best and it shows little respect for the person asking.

So if you don't like someones answer or the way they answered it, just keep it to yourself, and you will be glad you did in the in.

RE: Bad experience with Conisio

I want to preface the answer here by saying that since Conisio is now a part of the SolidWorks family and will have deeper access to the development team I suspect that we'll see a bunch of improvements very quickly to the software.

Conisio is aware of SolidWorks part configurations and  assembly configurations but the out of the box BOM tab is not configuration aware. I have been assured that this will be addressed. It also is not aware of the "don't show in BOM" option in the assembly. Again, I've spoken to the key guys at Conisio about it and it will be addressed.

What shows on the Conisio BOM tab is just an SQL stored procedure that can be modified to extract the data from the containted files differently. Ex. Filter out all files not containing the property purchased or manufactured.

Don't give up on your evaluation on Conisio.  It's a solid system destined to become the most widely used in our community.
