Backup S5 CPU

Backup S5 CPU

(OP)
Does anybody know how to copy the complete PLC program&data in a S5 CPU in order to have a backup project in the PG to be used as a master to write new eproms?
I have 3 S5 plcs (S5-95, S5-100 CPU 103, S5-115 CPU 944). I would like to create relevant projects in the PG.
Thanks a lot!

RE: Backup S5 CPU

Upload program from the PLC and save this in your S5 program as a project.

RE: Backup S5 CPU

I would try to find the proper documented programs if I was you and ensure they are up to date. Nothing worse than a uploaded S5 undocumented program. Its OK to upload as a pure back-up, but ensure its taken when the system is at rest and empty.

One point though, if you find the documented program and its not quite up to date with the PLC, DO NOT UPLOAD from the PLC over the documented program. Two reasons:

1. All DB's will lose their format, you'll get every word displayed as KH losing all the formats put in when initially programmed.

2. Any added or deleted segments will cause the OB's, PB's and FB's segments commenst to go out of sync.
