Has anyone heard of the Origami project by MicroSoft? The ultra "mobile" PC's format has some intriguing possibilities for field work assuming it could run AutoCAD. Has anyone any info on compatibility?

Several years back I bought an HP Jornada 820 Handheld PC (it had a 9 inch diagonal screen/70% sized keyboard) and a program called PocketCAD. The idea was to be able to bring electronic AutoCAD drawings to the field for reference, troubleshooting, mark-ups and audits. The battery lasted 9 hours and from the reference dwg point it was good. I could compare wiring diagrams to the actual wired devices and make notations of the errors/differences.

Where it fell down was the the drawings had to be "imported" into PocketCAD and got changed enough to where I could not easily bring them back into AutoCAD once changes were done to the files. All text was one font (Txt or Simplex) and all left justified. Blocks came apart and attributes became text. The work involved to bring the dwgs back to "standards" was a job and not worth the effort.

While not a fan of MS Windows, MS WIN is getting a bit better and from a work standpoint, I can tolerate the limitations. Any information out there?
