(OP)
For a 1 hp single phase motor,115 v, is the P1 (Lead 1) the hot wire that connects to the hot or black wire in a chord for plugging into the wall or does it matter?  I am ready to connect a chord to my motor so I can "plug" it in, but this simple problem has me baffled.  T2, T4, and T5 bundles together and connects to Lead 2 - I assume this bundle would connect to the neutral (white) wire of the plug in chord.  Help??  And Thanks in Advance - Dock

RE: small motor connections

Doesn't matter.

And just because I am being particularly ornery today, a "chord" is a musical tone combination. Your wire is a "cord".

RE: small motor connections

What jraef said. We are both assuming that you have the right wires in the right bundles.
