Excel data input into CATIA
Excel data input into CATIA
(OP)
I usually get the loft data to re engineer a part. Sometimes it is so large, that it takes good chunk of the day just entering. Can you import such data thru excel into CATIA, or is there any better sugestion.

Search your computer for this file: (if you have documentation installed)
cfyugexternalfile.htm

you can specify points, make curves and then surfaces, all from excel.
formatting the data is a different story, but look for the help in catia.
RE: Excel data input into CATIA
the script available from catiav5forum is a modified version of the one from the online doc.
this file is an excel file in which you put XYZ of points and get points, splines and loft in V5.
there is a max of points/spline but if you edit the VBA code in EXCEL, it should be easy to increase that value.
if you do not want curves but just points, run the script several times with the maximum number of point...
I might improve this in next version.
Thanks for the input
