Combining Parts of an Assy?
Combining Parts of an Assy?
(OP)
If I have an assembly containing 2 bodies that mate to each other, is it possible to combine them so I can save the assembly without external references? I took a plastic injection molded part created a split and subsequent assy of the 2 halves. I would now like to save the assy without the external references of the individual files. Hope my intention is clear....

RE: Combining Parts of an Assy?
If I understand right, the simplist would be to do a 'Save As'. Just select 'Save As Type' Part. This'll leave you with a dumbsolid made of 2 seperate solid bodies.
RE: Combining Parts of an Assy?
It has worked for me using the Join function. However, FYI, anytime you save an assembly as a part file it changes the solid bodies to surfaces only. Not a problem unless you will be doing a section view.
