How to make extrusion wich will start as circle and end as square

How to make extrusion wich will start as circle and end as square

How to make extrusion wich will start as circle and end as square

(OP)
Basically what I’m trying to do is to make pipeline reduction that will start as round pipe and and as square which is 30x40 cm. what I wanted to do is to make solid that has the same shape as inner volume of reduction and then to make shell.
And problem is how to make such solid.
Do you have any tips and tricks for me?

Thank you

Miran

RE: How to make extrusion wich will start as circle and end as square

I don't believe there is a way to do this in AutoCAD and have it be a solid. If you have a friend with solidworks or Inventor he could export it for you and you could put it in to your file.

If it just for visual purposes you can you faces.  Unfortunately the command has left my memory and I can't think of it right now.

I presumed it coudn't be done i AutoCad. And how to do it in solidworks, i know i'm boring but i am novice in solidworks. I done basics and am lerning more and more day by day.

Thank You anyway

Much easier to do in SolidWorks. Start a thread in the "SolidWorks 3D CAD Products" forum here.

RE: How to make extrusion wich will start as circle and end as square

There is a possible way in ACAD but it will require four separate commands, the last of which will be repeated four times.
Draw a circle and extrude it; draw a square,  circumscribing the circle, and extrude it in the opposite direction with a taper so that it flares out; union both; at the junction of circle and square there are four separate faces, each  to be extruded in the direction of the cylinder with a taper identical to the one used above that made the prismatic shape.  you will need to calculate to probably four decimal places the depth of extrusion for the four faces so that they terminate into points tangent to the cylindrical surface.

RE: How to make extrusion wich will start as circle and end as square

In Turbocad, I use a "LOFT" command between 2 2D entities. A Square and a Circle. I then make a scaled down copy and then subtract one from the other.

Here is a pic http://www.weldinginspectionsvcs.com/Loft.htm

The .igs file is at http://www.weldinginspectionsvcs.com/FtpPublic/squaretoround.igs

Cad is not my specialty so I may have misunderstood what you needed.

In AutoCAD 2007 it is possible using the loft command.  Also doing a helix.
