Sketch geometry from model section view??

Sketch geometry from model section view??

(OP)
I created a section view in my part model. Is there a way to convert Entities to a sketch from the section view?

RE: Sketch geometry from model section view??

Can you not project the information you require to a reference plane setup where your section line currently is?

RE: Sketch geometry from model section view??

(OP)
No, apparently entities selected in the section view are not valid to convert to the current sketch

I have a work around, I created a new configuration and then actually cut extrude the part in half rather than using a section view. Then I can convert the edge of the cut part to a sketch.

RE: Sketch geometry from model section view??

You could have used the Intersection Curve function & eliminated the cut-extrude config.

cheers

Thanks CBL, I didn't know about that function. That works well also
