steel reinforcement different form main direction
steel reinforcement different form main direction
(OP)
hi,
first think, sorry for my bad english.
I wan't to know how to calculate the section of steel reinforcement needed if the direction isn't the same of the main moment.
It's for a plate with a skew angle.
I just have to divide the section by the square of cosinus of the angle between the two directions ? or am i totaly wrong ?
Thanks for helping me.

RE: steel reinforcement different form main direction
i've found information about Wood/armer method, is it the correct way to design this ?

It's exactly what i want to do, i have a 45° skewed brigde.
i've read this method is very (too) conservative ? isn't it ?
