footings for future structures
footings for future structures
(OP)
I am currently design a open building which is going to be closed in couple of years. the owner want us to design the footings which are for future walls and columns. I am wondering if there are ways or details for future dowels that can be buried under finish grade but not affect the functin of the open building?

Simpson has a report on their website.

I often use 25M (#8) bars at 32 or 48 o/c... If you have a strip footing with a wall, then you can even cast a key into the existing footing... You should match the connectors with the actual load anticipated... often, other than bearing, this is quite small.

What is it that you are building now? What is the future construction?

it could be concrete tie columns with reinforced CMU. it could be steel columns with reinforced CMU. We are contemplating now.
