Linear feature pattern crashes SW

Linear feature pattern crashes SW

Linear feature pattern crashes SW

(OP)
Hello,

I am not able to use the Linear Pattern command for features. When I activate this command, SW pauses, then gives a warning that sldpatternu.dll can not be found. Then SW crashes.

I've done a search and the file is there. Of course, I don't know if its corrupted or not. Are there any others that have had this problem? Any fixes short of reinstall?

Thank you,

Craig Sink

RE: Linear feature pattern crashes SW

See thread559-152617

If the dll is corrupted you may be able to use the fix above, assuming you have access to another machine running SW, probably with the same service pack.  It also may have gotten moved somehow to a location where SW doesn't know where it is.  Real easy to do with a sloppy double-click.  If it's where you think it oughtta be then go to Start->Run and type

regsvr32 "[path]\sldpatternu.dll"

Hopefully you can avoid a reinstall!

Thanks Handleman! That worked. I just copied the DLL from a working system and it fixed it.
