I postes this also in the Automotive forum, but I think this is a better place to get an answer.
The question is why do bicycle and/or motorcycle fork manufacturers use very little oil (less than 50cc for a bicycle fork) on the non-damper side leg, for bushing lubrication?
I gather that the lower bushing gets splashed with oil with each stroke.
What about the upper one?
Some manufacturers use hydrodinamic lubrication and make grooves on the bshings, but most of them don't.
Anyone has a deeper insight on this topic?

Because they use high performance self lubrication bushings/bearings
