Geotechnical / Soil Mechanics lab courses

Geotechnical / Soil Mechanics lab courses

Geotechnical / Soil Mechanics lab courses

(OP)
Hi, please, if you know about soil mechanics lab courses in San Bernardino (could be Riverside, L.A. or nearest cities, Inland Empire area) please let me know.

We started with a new lab, so we need to know how to do the tests correctly, so we are planning to send a coworker to take a course but we don't know where.

Best Regards.

Francisco.

RE: Geotechnical / Soil Mechanics lab courses

Probably the best laboratory short course in the country is taught at the University of Missouri-Rolla.  It is a one-week course and covers triaxial shear and consolidation testing.

I would suggest that you hire someone with some experience.  Just taking a course does not prepare one for the range of problems you will run into.  Experience is great in these cases.  Besides, how will you know if your results are right?  While the standards are prescriptive, the interpretation of the results is not so.
