metallization of plastics

(OP)
Hi All , I am interested in the metallizating of plastics ( to create a reflective surface) on materials such acrylic or polycarbonate. Can anyone one point me to the most cost effective technologies ? For example how are reflectors on torches ( flashlights ) made ? In my particular application I would only want to coat selected areas around 50MM2, leaving the other areas unaffected. Many thanks in adavance. Opticsman.

RE: metallization of plastics

Reflectors are made by copper strike then nickel or nickel and chrome. Contact good electroless plater and they can give you many details.
