Formaldehyde emissions from Mortuary

Formaldehyde emissions from Mortuary

Formaldehyde emissions from Mortuary

(OP)
Hi

I am looking for calculations to work out the
concentration in mg/m3 of formaldehyde from
a mortuary bench? I have searched the web high
and low and checked various occupational hygiene
books and other sources but have found nothing yet.

The Process:-

I do not have the forecast for annual usage of
formaldehyde or any monitoring data.

All I have to go on is the approx size of the mortuary slab
(where the actual examinations will take place)
2.5 x 1.5m, I would assume the slab is coated with
formaldehyde and the room temp is 18 degC. The room
dimensions are approx 10 x 6 x 3 metres.

I was hoping to use the vapour pressure (VP) or
the evaporation rate (ER)(could not find ER for
formaldehyde). Then to calculate the volume of
air required to keep the concentration at 2.5 mg/m3 (2ppm),
and calculate the emission rate in grammes/sec from
the concentration and estimated volume flow.

There will be 7 slabs when the room is fitted out
