Well! I wish to discuss all types of castings. Investment casting is a Precision casting process so better discuss first the fundamental types of castings. Shouldn't we?

what you say makes sence. you decide where to begin. choose a type of casting and let us begin!

Refer ISO8062 which deals with tolerances of castings manufactured by  various manufacturing processes. This will give you idea about various manufacturing methods used for making castings. Ferrous and non-ferrous.

i have been in the IC line for some time and am aware of the basics. what i am looking for is a indepth discussion on the subject - technology, process control, cost & quality, etc...
