Surface Symmetry

Surface Symmetry

Surface Symmetry

(OP)
I searched previous threads and go close but not exacatly.  In Assembly Design is there a way to Symmetry-Mirror any data other than solids/PartBody.  I am looking to mirror RH data to the LH in the product.

When I use Symmetery and the CatPart only has surface in GeoSets, there is now result.

Ross.

RE: Surface Symmetry

Ross - In Generative Shape Design (GSD) go to Tools-->External View.  Select the surface to symmetry.  If it is more that 1 surface create a join with non-connectivity turned on. You can only symmetry the external view or the partbody, not both. I wish you luck with the symmetry.

Derek

RE: Surface Symmetry

(OP)
Derek,

I know how to do it in a CatPart but I want to do it in my CatProduct.  So far I can only get solid data not any surface to work.

Ross.

RE: Surface Symmetry

Ross, follow preview response about external view.  In assembly design Insert --> Symmetry, pick plane, pick CATPart.  your external view surfaces are mirrored.  You can not symmetry both solid and surface, it is 1 or the other from what I understand.

Regards,
Derek
