Extrude Complex Sketch

Extrude Complex Sketch

Extrude Complex Sketch

(OP)
Hi,

I am new with SolidWorks (2003 SP3.0). I've done the basics in the tutorial, and have put in about 10 hours so far.

My question is how to extrude from a complicated sketch. The error I encounter with any sketch more complicated than a single square or circle is:

Code:
Extrude27: The sketch cannot be used for a feature because an endpoint is wrongly shared by multiple entities.

This is for sketch "Serpentine1".

I think this an easy question, but I can't figure it out after many hours of trying.

Any help would be much appreciated.

my file can be found here:

Thank you!
:)

RE: Extrude Complex Sketch

Get rid of the lines that fall accross the tangents of the arcs. I deleted them in your posted file and it will extrude a boss or a cut. Use tools/sketch tools/check sketch for feature to find the error.

RE: Extrude Complex Sketch

You could also just convert the "tangents" to construction lines.

cheers
