Desulphurization equipment for small foundry

Desulphurization equipment for small foundry

(OP)
Hi everybody,
I am investigating SO2 reduction equipment for small type of foundry. They are using no.6 fuel oil. Consumption is approximately 5- 6 tons/month. SO2 will be reduced 5000 ppm to 1500 ppm.
Does anybody have information about it?

Many thanks for your valuable ideas.

RE: Desulphurization equipment for small foundry

If the SO2 is from the no. 6 fuel, the only feasible option is to switch fuels to either a low sulfur fuel or to natural gas.

Flue gas desulfurization is not practical because of the high capital and operating costs.

RE: Desulphurization equipment for small foundry

Costs are on the way down.
I would take a look at the marine industry websites to keep track of this.
One site worth a look and where they maintain a data base (somewhere) of what is and is not feasible is www.SEAaT.com.
