ProE to Solidworks

ProE to Solidworks

I have a customer that uses ProE, I'm not sure of his version. I'm using SW 2006 SP2.1
They sent me ParaSolid Files but Solidworks reports invalid faces and edges. I've tried running diagnostics and repairing all, but it does not work. should I ask them to re-send using Step or Iges? or is there a better option
thanks,
tom

RE: ProE to Solidworks

I usually use STEP.  It seems to come in the cleanest from Pro/E.

RE: ProE to Solidworks

Yes, have them send both STEP and IGES. See which works best for you. From my experience, I ask for either depending on the company.

RE: ProE to Solidworks

I go back and forth from Pro/e 2001 and SWx 2005 & 2006 daily....STEP is the best.  Here is a link to an article I downloaded regarding modeler accuracy and going between systems that have different kernals

Never argue with an idiot. They'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience every time.
