Crushed glass

(OP)
Has anyone ever used crushed glass as "suitable fill" for building sites.

RE: Crushed glass

I've tested and used crushed glass as fine aggregate in a mortar mix.

Call Dennis Grubb of Schnabel Engineering in West Chester, PA (www.schnabel-eng.com).  He's currently working on some crushed glass research with Drexel University and the USACOE.  They have a paper titled Field Evaluation of Crushed Glass-Dredged Material Blends.  The paper will appear in the May, 2006 Journal of Geotechnical and GeoEnvironmental Engineering from ASCE.
