PCB connector for braid

PCB connector for braid

PCB connector for braid

(OP)
Does anyone have a reference to a good pcb mount connector that will allow a clamping connection of 3/8" to 1/2" flat braid? I've done quite a bit of searching and found nothing so far, but it may be that I'm just using the wrong search terms.

Tia,

Cliff

RE: PCB connector for braid

That's a pretty big conductor (0.5-inch braid, good for maybe 100A) to simply end up being clamped to a PCB. What's the application that calls for such a large braid to be connected to a PCB? In other words, maybe that why such 'PCB-mounted braid clamps' are uncommon.

If you can't find a suitable clamp at the end of the day, then you might have to terminate the braid with a big lug, and then use a stud (bolt, washers, nuts) to connect it to the PCB (through a hole).

Another option is (maybe) to turn the problem around and just solder the braid to the PCB and use the disconnecting hardware at the other end (this assumes things about your application that may not be true). The length of braid just stays with the PCB.

I concur, I would take the lug and bolt route.
