Slurry Pumping References

Slurry Pumping References

Slurry Pumping References

(OP)
Hello,

Does anyone have any good online references they can point me to on "slurry pumping" (articles in Che Mag, AICHE, etc)?  Or books that I can get my hands on would also be helpful.

Thanks.

RE: Slurry Pumping References

For a start, contact your local slurry pump reps, they may probably give you some manuals such as Weir's (Warman) SLURRY PUMPING MANUAL or GIW's SLURRY PIPELINE DESIGN MANUAL. For the latterone, you can fill in a request on their website and they'll mail you one. For more complete and advanced knowledge, a book SLURRY TRANSPORT USING CENTRIFUGAL PUMPS, Third Edition, by K. Wilson et al. will give you excellent reference. You may have to buy this book though.

Some of the books I use are:-

Design of Slurry Pipeline Systems BE Jacobs
Slurry Transport using Centrifugal Pumps Wilson, Addie, Clift
Slurry Transport Wasp
Non Newtonian Flow in the Process Industry CharbbRa & Richardson
Slurry Systems Handbook Balunaga
Also contact GIW website. Send message and request required technical papers. Also check out Weir pumps

RE: Slurry Pumping References

In addition to stanier's list, I would recommend R.P. King: "Introduction to Practical Fluid FLow" (Butterworth-Heinemann, 2002), Chapters 3, 4 and 5.  This is a convenient and well written book for this area and covers the basics very nicely.
