selection of turbine type

(OP)
Hi
I'm building a high speed (50.000 rpm) test rig and want to use an air turbine to drive the shaft (2000Watt). Which type of turbine should I place. Is an axial impulse turbine a good choice? Efficiency is unimportant in contrast with construction cost.

Does anybody know some suppliers of standard products cause I can't find any on the net.

hope to get some tips from you lads.
grtz

RE: selection of turbine type

I would opt for a radial inflow turbine. Almost all exhaust gas driven turbochargers use that style and can be easily modified for your intended purpose.-----Phil
