ROI Emergency Generator

ROI Emergency Generator

(OP)
I found an ROI Generator about 30 years old with following model #
Engine: ROI "Crown Line" H884-V8
Generator: Model# HAA4CU
           Size: 5-3/8x4x7/8 or 5-3/8x4x7/85
           Serial# 65X2348
           Spec G-27790 - 1800 RPM
Can anybody help me to find the KVA or KW rating or guide me to Manufacturer's data for this generators?
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

RE: ROI Emergency Generator

http://www.smokstak.com may be a place to post your question about the engine and generator as well.

Is ROI short for LEROI?  an old engine manufacturer in the USA.  Is the engine diesel or spark ignition? Turbocharged or NA?  Where are you located?  So many engine manufacturers have been bought up and the names have disappeared in the last 30 or 40 years.

RE: ROI Emergency Generator

Agree with ccjersey--do a search at Smokstak.  Unfortunately, if you search there, you'll find that Le Roi's aren't really supportable anymore.

I would estimate it at 125 to 150 kw.
From the compression ratio I assume that it's a gasoline engine.

Thanks ccjersey, powerwagon75, and waross for yor help.
ROI might be short for LEROI we do not know.
The Gen-set is located in a high-rise building in Miami, used for standby emergency power.
The engine is Natural Gas powered, with spark-plugs, and turbo charged.
We posted the question at Smokestak and hope for reply.
We are also picking up on walross suggestion to look at "WAUKESHA ROI Line". Great info, thanks.
We will post our findings.

RE: ROI Emergency Generator

On a similar note we have a 1967 Roiline H884 (65X1527) engine driving a Kohler generator Model 140R77 (SN 300-489; Spec. 9901A). It uses natural gas and the book mentions one of two Delco Remy distributors for nat. gas applications, one of which is #1110622. How hard would it be to match the part number for the distributor points? Kohler doesn't support it. They say that the engine was originally bought from Waukesha.

RE: ROI Emergency Generator

By the way, assuming our unit is similar to emfrey's I'd be happy to share any info our service literature might contain that would be helpful. just let me know.
