Deleting a dimension

Deleting a dimension

Deleting a dimension

(OP)
Hi All,

I am trying to add a dimension to an item, but I don't want the dimension to be displayed.  All I want is the tolerance, as this dimension will represent a variety of sizes in a table.

So far, I have been unable to remove the decimal portion of the dimension, and have had to resort to drawing a white box over it to hide it on the final drawing.

Is there a way of removing a dimension?

Thanks in advance!

Tim

RE: Deleting a dimension

Tim,

Select the dimension, then go over to the end of the ribbon bar and there will be a button with an "x" on it.  Press the button and it will expand to several options.  At the bottom right, there will be a button with a grayed out looking "x".  Press it and the dimension will be blank but the witness lines will still be there.  Then you can press the button next to it that opens up a dialogue box for placing prefixes etc.  In the suffix box type alt+241 (ASCII for ±) and then type the tolerance you want.

Hi Kyle,

I thought I tried every one of those modifiers!  I think I skipped the grey X as it looked to me like it was disabled.

That works great, thanks for the instruction.
