Component to Product in Catia V5

Component to Product in Catia V5

Hello

I've imported STEP file to Catia V5, and sub-assemblies are converted to "component" entities, not "product".
I'm wondering is there is an easy way around so that sub-assemblies would be "sub-products" in Catia. Or easy way to convert components to products (drag-and-drop is easy, but not "user-friendly" if the sub-assembly as many parts) ?

RE: Component to Product in Catia V5

What is your setting of Tools-->Options-->Compatibility-->Step
Import-->Assemblies physical structure?  I have mine not set and have yet to see this? It could also be the files I have received.

Regards,
Derek

Thanks, that was it !

When I activate the option "one CATproduct for each product", it comes correctly (sub-assemblies are CATproduct too).

RE: Component to Product in Catia V5

The "one CATproduct for each product" option was new in R14.
