sw close after being idle

Is there a setting for SW to close after being idle for an amount of time?  SW closes if i leave my comp. for an hour or so but nothing else closes that i leave running i.e. outlook, word, excell etc. So i don't believe it's a windows setting.

We just updated our service pack i was hoping that would fix it. Maybe I need a fresh install?

Thanks.

RE: sw close after being idle

Nothing I know of.  Perhaps it's an installation glitch?

Is your signature info current (running SP 4.0)?

Yah thats all I can think of. Out of 5 seats here I'm the only one having this happen.  I'll try a fresh install when i get a chance.

Yes SP 4.0.  Happened with SP 3.1 or whatever the last SP was also.

RE: sw close after being idle

Are you guys on network licenses?  It could be a timeout issue.  The only other thing that comes to mind is a computer virus...

Nope no network license all individual.

Hmmm virus never thought of that. Guess I'll run my virus scan tonight.  Weird virus as it only closes SW nothing else?  Worth a shot.

Thanks.

RE: sw close after being idle

I have noticed that my Outlook closes unexpectedly, only on days when I'm using Solidworks.

RE: sw close after being idle

I've had SolidWorks "fall asleep" before after leaving it unattended for a while.  It seems like it dumped the RAM or something, since it was unresponsive/super-sluggish for a couple of minutes when coming back to the assembly.  Sure enough, the RAM increased incrementally as SolidWorks was waking up.

Strange.
